Nicole Cutler
From the day she could hold a crayon Nicole knew art would be a huge
part of her life. Her self taught and unconventional methods have helped
her develop a fluidity within multiple styles. She can flow like water, calm
and serene with a fierce underlying power to embody her creations.
She has worked in the graphic design and casting industries for almost
20 years. She has a large body of design and promotion work within the
music industry as well. 2009 was a pivotal year and Nicole embarked on
her quest as a professional artist. In 2010 she developed Moonspyder LLC
and Nicole quit her side jobs as a contract artist and promoter. She is
now creating without limitations and loving every minute of it.
When asked about the name Moonspyder, it was something that came to
her quite naturally. Having lived in the Mountains for the developmental
years of her life, Nicole became one with nature and an avid outdoor
enthusiast. She embraced the moon with such passion that soon images
of the moon started appearing in almost all of her art. Another trick she
learned from the Mountains was that of not killing spiders. As much as this creeps out her friends over the years, Nicole is relentless:
"They don't bother us, and they eat the bugs that do."
Over the years Nicole's art has been published and distributed in the form of books, full album spreads, stickers in major chain stores, apparel and other random markets. "It's cool to see it out there, but I'd rather see my name with something that really shows more of my passion, and not just what I was chosen to design" says Nicole. Needing a way to share a glimpse into the world of her mind she created an alter-ego persona "Moonspyder". A kind of identity to be an unapologetic powerhouse, free to create without concern of the sensitive or directive restraint. For all of the things that the sometimes timid artist might not try, Moonspyder could. Moonspyder has become the brand and foundation for her future design empire.
"Nicole is the perfect mix of creativity and organization"
